Let’s talk about the weather…

It “snowed” in my hometown of Raleigh today. (It was really more like a half-inch of freezing rain). The local convenience store sold out of milk, bread, and butter.  Not that I was buying any of those things – I was just curious so I asked the attendant knowing the mayhem that ensues when it snows in the south.  Despite the fact that it will be sunny and 50 degrees tomorrow and all of this will be gone, Raleigh North Carolina has bought up every bit of milk, bread, and butter it can possible horde.

It got me thinking about great music with a weather theme.  Here’s a few for you to enjoy.

Zac Brown Band: Cold Weather

Katrina & The Waves: Walking on Sunshine

Sly & The Family Stone: Hot Fun in the Summertime

Scorpions: Rock You Like A Hurricane

Guns N’ Roses: November Rain

Frank Sinatra: Singing in the Rain

Foreigner: Cold as Ice

The Beatles: Here Comes The Sun

Some years ago during this type of weather we are having in Raleigh,I had a spot ready to go with the beginning of the Beach Boys song “I Get Around” explaining reasons for buying 4×4 vehicle from the dealership I was advertising for.

I thought it was a great idea, summer sound during cold weather, offering a great product. It did work although not everyone thought it was funny as I did.
